Rush is again represented on Modern Healthcare's list, with Dr. Omar Lateef, president and CEO of Rush University System for Health and 海角原创, making his sixth appearance.
Modern Healthcare chooses nominees who 鈥渦se their medical expertise to shape their organizations鈥 strategies and drive transformation throughout the industry.鈥
Among the highlights on Lateef鈥檚 Modern Healthcare nomination was the opening of the Sankofa Wellness Village Center, where Rush is a key part of a facility designed to provide health care while creating opportunities for residents in one of Chicago鈥檚 most disinvested areas.
The list is currently available digitally for Modern Healthcare subscribers and will be in the June print edition of the magazine.
Rush鈥檚 influence was evident during an event with another major publication on May 27 as Lateef spoke alongside other leaders from various industries about the future of AI at TIME magazine鈥檚 first TIME100 AI Leadership Forum.
During the discussion 鈥 including Arianna Huffington, founder and CEO of Thrive Global, and Neil Lindsay, senior vice president of Amazon Health 海角原创 鈥 Lateef shared Rush鈥檚 success with Nuna, a program that leverages AI to keep patients on track taking their medications. Twenty percent were able to get these chronic conditions under control.
鈥淭wenty percent is a huge number in health care," he said. "If you take 20 patients with uncontrolled hypertension and make it controlled, you decrease strokes, and you decrease heart attacks.鈥
