About the Rush Sinus, Allergy and Asthma Center

• First program of its kind in Chicago: Sinusitis, allergies and asthma, chronic diseases that afflict millions of people, are often interrelated 鈥� not only do many people suffer from more than one of these conditions, but each condition can affect the severity of the others. You're likely to experience a combination of symptoms, including persistent sinus pain and pressure, breathing problems, sleep apnea and coughing, that can severely affect your quality of life. That's why we created the Rush Sinus, Allergy and Asthma Center, the first of its kind in the Chicago area and one of only a handful nationally.
• A single entry point for all your care: At most centers, treatment of airway diseases is provided by individual physicians with little collaboration between specialties. We do an exhaustive assessment to determine which specialists you need; then, we assemble your personal care team. Together, your team plans and coordinates all treatments to provide you with the best possible results.
• Convenience: We offer a variety of locations, including the main Rush campus, Rush Oak Park Hospital, Rush Oak Brook and Rush South Loop. So you can schedule appointments with some or all of your care team closer to home, without sacrificing the quality or continuity of your care. Our specialists will also partner with your current primary care doctor, referring physician or outside specialists, as needed.
• Leading-edge treatments: From minimally invasive procedures to novel devices and medications, we offer a full range of state-of-the-art medical and surgical solutions. And we'll work with you to come up with a treatment plan that fits both your health needs and lifestyle.
• Nationally recognized AERD treatment: Rush鈥檚 ENT program is one of 10 programs in the country recognized for multidisciplinary excellence in treating AERD (Aspirin Exacerbated Respiratory Disease) by the Samter鈥檚 Society. AERD is a progressive inflammatory disease of the upper and lower airways characterized by marked eosinophilic nasal polyposis, asthma, severe chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps, and an allergy to aspirin and its products. This condition is notoriously difficult to treat. Rush鈥檚 patient-centered approach of advanced surgical techniques and personalized post-operative medical therapy leads to improvement in quality of life that is sustained for years without need for revision surgery.
